Obituary of Anju Chopra

In Loving Memory of a Wonderful Woman

Anju Chopra, 65, passed away on Wednesday, August 11th following a five-year-long battle with breast cancer. She was born in New Delhi to Shanti and Indra Chopra in 1956. She studied to become a doctor in India and, in 1983, she moved to the United States where she met her husband, Jagbir Beniwal. They married in 1990 and welcomed their one daughter, Pamela, in 2001.

She was a physician specializing in Internal Medicine and worked at Pfizer Inc. as a Medical Director since 2001. She was a dedicated employee who took every opportunity to work, even after being diagnosed with cancer. Until July 2021, she worked full-time. Anju had a deep love for Pfizer and was valued and beloved amongst her colleagues. 

Anju was a kind, soft-spoken, and loving woman, a capable person who accomplished anything to which she put her mind. She cared deeply for her parents and made sure to visit them every single day after she had finished her work. She treasured her daughter Pam, her best friend, and her dear puppy, Eddie, and was a wonderful mother to them both. 

Although reserved, Anju had many friends and was a cheerful person despite any hardships that came her way. She mustered great strength in the face of severe adversity and fought bravely until the end. She was a role model for many. Few people, if any, could say any harsh words about her. She was truly loved by all.

Anju was the type of person who would suffer so that others wouldn’t have to, and she never complained. Her positivity, dedication, and love will be dearly missed by all who knew her, and she will remain forever in our hearts.

A memorial service for Anju will be held on Sunday, August 15th from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. EST at Punarjanm Funeral Home, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ 07069.
